General FAQs

Where can I place my CommerceSocial stores, product shared mini-stores, interactive ecommerce videos, and other tools?
Where ever you like! All CommerceSocial stores, mini-stores, and ecommerce video ads work everywhere, Facebook too. The social content endorsement tool works on about half of all social sites.
Any downloads or integration needed to use CommerceSocial?
There are NO downloads and there is NO integration required! Just login and access your account at CommerceSocial.com or anywhere you see a CommerceSocial store, mini-store, or endorsed content.
What can CommerceSocial do for my business?
CommerceSocial can be used as a sales and branding vehicle as stores and products are portable and viral. Merchants can have hundreds, thousands of stores and for zero monthly costs. What kind of Web browser should I use?
Any modern, standards-compliant Web browser should work just fine. We’ve tested CommerceSocial successfully with the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer for PCs, and Firefox and chrome for Macs.
I registered but did not get an email confirmation.
Try looking for the registration email confirmation in your spam folder (if it’s there, make sure to mark it as non-spam to allow our other emails to reach you). If it’s not there and a couple of hours has gone by since your registration, please send us an email using the email address you registered with and we’ll get right back to you with activation information.

Absolutely! CommerceSocial has $0 startup costs and NO monthly fees. CommerceSocial is provided to all merchants on a pay-per-use basis, you only pay when you make a sale. You can deploy 100 stores across 100 top social networks and blogs and not pay a penny until your sales start coming in.
How does CommerceSocial make money?
CommerceSocial receives 9% of each sale transaction made. This is exclusive of the credit card payment gateway fee which is 2.9% plus .30 cents (using Paypal payment gateway).
Do I need a Paypal email address to use CommerceSocial?
Yes. Merchants, social members, and fans will need a paypal email address to receive their funds from product sales and payout fees.
Does CommerceSocial work with mobile phones?
Yes, it does! Consumers can purchase from your stores and you can receive sales email notifications and access your CommerceSocial account to fulfill orders from any location using any flash compliant Android, Windows Mobile, or Nokia phone.

Seller FAQs

Shipping: can sellers set the shipping?
We have flat rate shipping which was designed for $0 - whatever cost. Other than flat rate, which includes FREE, there is a UPS calculation based on point of origin (seller zip code) and destination (customer zip code), total seller order weight and service level; ground, 3Day, 2Day or Next Day.
Is shipping passed through to sellers?
Yes, the merchant collects shipping and our transaction fee is not calculated on shipping charges or tax.
How would sellers handle adding additional handling fees for special items?
We do not currently have a setting to add handling fees. This is on the table for the next release.
How is sales tax handled? Who is responsible for collecting?
Sales tax is currently set to collect when the delivery address is within state/zip as the recipient of goods. CommerceSocial calculates and adds the tax amount to the order. Like shipping charges, we do not include taxes when calculating our transaction fee. Tax amounts are included in the sales transaction and are passed directly to the merchant. The merchant is responsible to file and pay taxes, accordingly.
Where in the checkout process is the return info provided?
The return info is provided by the merchant and is displayed to their buyers during checkout. Location of where is based on whether consumer is checking out in CommerceSocial store/mini-store/commerce ads or Vwala!. The merchant is responsible for all returns management, credits, exchanges and/or chargebacks.
Can sellers customize their invoice?
We currently send an email order confirmation to the seller that includes the intended order, as the order is approved through the payment gateway. Once the order is shipped by the seller (as the seller “Ships” the order and enters the tracking number into CommerceSocial), our system sends a shipping notification to the customer which includes a standard transaction receipt. CommerceSocial does not currently support invoices as this represents a document where the customer has not paid but is expected to return an amount for the goods, post sale and receipt. CommerceSocial collects funds from the consumer as the tracking number is entered or Ship function is complete from the seller so the invoice process is not relevant to this transaction. As we move into a more substantial B2B process, we will bring in the invoice document. Currently we do not support design for any of our customer notifications but we are considering this feature in the near future.
Is it possible to set the endorser payout commission at a individual publisher level?
Currently, the payout amount is at the product level and not the endorser/affiliate level.
Who owns customer info, such as emails, name, address, etc?
We collect and store the data per the CommerceSocial Terms of Service (TOS), however the merchant of record on the sale owns the customer. This means that CommerceSocial cannot sell the customer info but can use the data for system analytics, reporting, and any other TOS mention.
Can merchants run quarterly order reports?
Not currently but this is a coming feature. We are going to give merchants the ability to run various reports from their sales, campaigns, social commerce and advertisements insight reports for “all-Web” activity. We welcome feedback from merchants on what reports they feel are of the highest priority from them to prioritize their delivery.
Can I use CommerceSocial to sell digital goods?
Not at the moment, but stay tuned! The ability to sell digital goods is right around the corner!
